I am a Certified Emergency Nurse with more than 24 years bedside experience, and a forensic nurse examiner. Teaching experience extends from organizational meetings/conferences to staff development and emergency care courses developed by AHA and ENA, to the university setting. Developed and ran a mobile simulation lab that serviced 11 regional hospitals in southern North Carolina and northern South Carolina, providing training to RNs, CNAs, residents and paramedics. Actively participated on committees that initiated protocols for Code STEMI, smoking cessation and pneumonia and improved patient satisfaction scores. Assisted with preparations for JC inspections, and Magnet applications. Regularly performed peer review as the ED Outcomes manager, and was an active member of RCA committee. I volunteer my time as a reviewer of manuscripts for The Journal of Emergency Nursing and Journal of Forensic Nursing, sit on the education committee of the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN), perform various committee work for the Emergency Nurses Association and sit on the research committee of the Academy of Forensic Nursing.

Neurosurgery

Catherine Miller, MD, is a neurosurgeon who specializes in treating patients with spinal issues such as neck or back pain, tumors, scoliosis, and more. With more than 12 years of experience, Dr. Miller strives to provide the safest and best care for each patient, with an emphasis on respect and communication. She understands that the spine is extremely complex so not every patient will have the same symptoms, problems, or treatment plan, but they can all expect compassionate and thorough care every step of the way. Dr. Miller specializes in spinal conditions and their treatment, specifically minimally invasive spine surgery. Spinal disease/disorders can be very complex with each patient having different symptoms, pain, and treatment plans. Some patients may not require surgery while for others, surgery may be the only option. Dr. Miller works closely with other members of the medical community including the pain clinic and therapies to find the best solution for each patient.

Miranda Panetta APRN

Miranda is a family nurse practitioner that graduated with her master’s degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville Ohio in 2014 and her doctorate degree from The University of North Florida in 2020. She started out working in the inpatient setting in the field of cardiology for 7 years prior to transitioning to primary practice. She has been in primary practice since 2020. ​ Her belief is to treat others how you would want to be treated and how you would want your family members to be cared for. She strives to provide high quality and compassionate care to her clients. She has been married since 2019 and has two children, a daughter and a son, who are her world. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, going to the beach, and anything Disney related. She also enjoys traveling and especially enjoys traveling to Ohio to visit with her family.

Yvette Guzman
Yvette Guzman DNP, APRN

Yvette is a certified adult and gerontology nurse practitioner that graduated with her Bachelors degree in Nursing from the University of South Florida in 2010, Masters degree in Nursing from the University of Tampa in 2014, and received her Doctorate in Nursing at the University of Tampa in December 2022. She has worked in critical care, hospital medicine, cardiology, case management, utilization management, and population health. She has a passion for improving care of special needs and vulnerable populations and has transitioned to primary care to improve the prevention of chronic diseases and improve the quality of life of her patients. She practices with the belief that every patient is her own family and goes the extra mile to coordinate care, decrease barriers and complexity for patients and families in navigating the healthcare system, and personalizing a wellness plan that gets you feeling your best. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and volunteering with special needs organizations. She created this practice as she saw the need of the special needs community through her volunteer experience with the Special Olympics. Serving this community inspired her to create a better system for them and everyone to access care and create wellness that is often viewed as elusive or not available to all. She wants everyone to have the access to the highest quality of care so they can reach their highest potential. The practice has grown and has tailored programs for every individual. Yvette is most passionate about continuing to grow the practice and develop new programs that meet the patients needs and giving back to the community.

As a Correctional Nurse Practitioner at NaphCare, I provide primary care, urgent care, chronic care, and emergency services to inmates in one of the largest jails in the country. With years of experience in the correctional setting, I have developed strong clinical, administrative, and communication skills, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the correctional standards of care and practice. I also leverage my Doctorate of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner credentials to offer expert chart review and witnessing for the legal community, specializing in the areas of nursing, nursing administration, and nurse practitioner standards of care. I have co-authored and presented at national conferences on topics such as dementia and documentation skills in the correctional setting. I am passionate about improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare for vulnerable and underserved populations.
